Who we are

DiscountsBundle is a coupon and deals website. We list discount codes and offers from online stores, and we earn a commission when someone buys through one of our links. This page explains what data we collect when you use the site, why we collect it, and what you can do about it.

What we collect

We keep this to what the site actually needs:

  • Information you give us. Your email address if you subscribe to the newsletter, and whatever you include in a message when you contact us.
  • Usage data. Which pages you visit, which coupons you click, the referring page, your approximate location from your IP address, your browser and device type.
  • Coupon click records. When you reveal a code or open a store link, we record the click along with your IP address, browser string and referring page. This is how we know which offers still work and how our commissions are attributed.
  • Cookies. Small files stored by your browser. Our Cookie Policy covers these in detail.

We do not ask for and do not want payment card details, government identification, or any special category data such as health or political information. Purchases happen on the retailer's own site, never on ours.

Why we use it

  • To run the site and keep the listings accurate.
  • To work out which coupons still work and which should be removed.
  • To send the newsletter, if you asked for it.
  • To answer messages you send us.
  • To understand which pages are useful so we can write more of what people read.
  • To have commissions attributed correctly by the affiliate networks we work with.
  • To detect abuse, such as automated clicking.

The legal basis

Where the UK and EU data protection rules apply, we rely on:

  • Consent for the newsletter and for non-essential cookies. You can withdraw it at any time.
  • Legitimate interests for running the site, measuring traffic and preventing abuse, where those interests do not override your rights.
  • Legal obligation where we are required to keep records.

Who else sees it

We share data with the services that make the site work:

  • Our hosting provider, which stores the site and its database.
  • Analytics providers, which receive usage data about visits.
  • Affiliate networks and merchants, which receive the referral information needed to attribute a sale.
  • Our email provider, if you subscribe to the newsletter.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else's advertising.

We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone's safety.

How long we keep it

  • Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe.
  • Contact messages: while we deal with them and for a reasonable period afterwards.
  • Click and analytics records: in aggregate for as long as they are useful; identifiable records are kept only as long as needed to verify offers and attribute commissions.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may be able to ask us to:

  • Tell you what data we hold about you and give you a copy.
  • Correct anything inaccurate.
  • Delete your data.
  • Stop or limit certain processing.
  • Send your data to another service.
  • Stop using your data for direct marketing — always, without needing a reason.

To exercise any of these, email info@discountsbundle.com. We will respond within the time limit that applies in your jurisdiction. If you are unhappy with our answer, you can complain to your national data protection authority.

If you are in California, you also have the right to know what personal information is collected and to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of it. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined there.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, access to the admin area is restricted, and we keep the software patched. No website can promise perfect security, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach affects your data and the law requires us to tell you, we will.

Children

This site is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will remove it.

International transfers

Some of the services we use process data outside your country. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards those providers put in place, such as standard contractual clauses.

Links to other sites

Almost every coupon on this site sends you to a retailer's own website. Once you are there, their privacy policy applies, not ours. We have no control over what they collect.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change, and the date at the top will change with it. Significant changes will be flagged on the site.
